A Cosmic Turning Point: The Astrology of 2026

2026 has a lot of carry over from the previous year, with three of the outer planets (Saturn, Uranus & Neptune) finally moving into the signs that they briefly traversed in 2025. While we saw a preview last year, in 2026 we will finally see these planetary shifts playing out. A new era for humanity is ready to begin! Jupiter into Leo
Jupiter moves into the sign of Leo on June 30th. Those with the Sun in a fire sign (Aries, Leo or Sagittarius) will find this a particularly beneficial time. With Jupiter in Leo, we are being pushed by the cosmos to be brave - to stand up for what we believe in and for who we are. For those in business, it's a great time for self-promotion. It's time to shine.
Collectively, we may see an increase in visibility regarding the arts, entertainment, fashion and culture. Pluto will be opposing Jupiter during the month of July, so don't be surprised if we hear of the passing of several well-known celebrities during this time.
Saturn into Aries
Saturn moves into the sign of Aries on February 14th. It will now remain in this sign for the next couple of years.. Saturn is in the sign of its fall, in Aries. It's not comfortable in this sign as Aries is a sign that likes to move fast and Saturn likes to do things carefully. When Saturn transits through Aries we may find that we need to be more self-reliant. The blending of Saturn in Aries asks for us to take action, but have a plan. We are encouraged to set long term goals and work towards them during this time. Leadership is a theme that may arise. If you are not a natural leader, perhaps it's time to learn to take charge and be the leader of your own life.
Uranus into Gemini
Uranus moves into Gemini on April 26th. Uranus is the planet of sudden change. Uranus in Gemini brings us a time of originality. The last time that Uranus was in this sign was 1942 - 1949. These years saw big developments in the areas of science, technology and education. It's likely that we will see big changes to the social media platforms during this time. A lot of creative thinkers may also emerge. There may also be changes to the way we learn and collective thinking.
Neptune into Aries
Neptune moves into Aries on January 27th. Neptune is a planet of illusion, dreams and spirituality. It has spent approximately the last fourteen years in its own sign. During this time we have seen an increase in the illusional world of social media. We have seen a strong uptake in more spiritual, rather than traditional religion. We have also seen many people having the courage to follow their dreams, rather than deal with the traditional nine-to-five work life.
Neptune in Aries will most likely see an upswing in those attempting to make their dreams a reality. Aries will bring energy to this dreamy planet, which may have a positive effect for many. Neptune also dissolves things, so we may see traditional masculine concepts changed as we know them, as well as confusion between reality and fantasy. It is also likely that we will experience increased global warming patterns. Neptune into Aries asks us to become spiritual warriors.
Mercury Retrogrades
Mercury retrograde brings us a time to go within and listen to our inner guidance.
In 2026, Mercury retrogrades in the water signs, encouraging us to listen to our intuition. I always recommend journaling as a positive practice during this time, as it assists with releasing our thoughts in a clear manner. (I also like to pull an oracle card as part of my journaling practice). Below are the dates that Mercury will be retrograde in 2026.
26th February - 21st March (22 - 8 degrees Pisces)
30th June - 24th July (26 - 16 degrees Cancer)
24th October - 14th November (20 - 5 degrees Scorpio)
Venus Retrograde
Venus goes retrograde approximately every two years. In 2026, Venus will be retrograde from October 3rd and will remain in its retrograde phase until November 14th. Venus will turn retrograde in the sign of Scorpio and will move back into Libra.
During Venus retrograde, it's a time when old friends may resurface in your life. Past loves may also show up during this time. This is also a time when we are asked by the cosmos to review our values and also our resources. This is a wonderful time for self-nurturing. It's also a great time to take control of your finances and explore your relationship with money.
Anything that you want to explore that is uncomfortable for you, is best done when Venus is in the sign of Scorpio, as this is the sign of her detriment. Self-improvements and self-nurturing is best done when Venus is in Libra sign of her dignity.
Blue Moon in Sagittarius
The Sagittarius Full Moon on May 31st is the second Full Moon of the month (the other occurring on May 2nd in the sign of Scorpio). This makes it a Blue Moon. A Blue Moon only occurs once every few years (hence the saying, once in a Blue Moon). It is associated with fated events, deep release, spiritual acceleration and the amplification of magic and manifestation. It can also be a spiritual or emotional turning point.
Because this Blue Moon falls in Sagittarius, the energy can assist with pushing you past your limits, beliefs and old stories. This is the time for revelations, new adventures and faith. Being honest with yourself will set you free........
Chiron into Taurus
Chiron moves into Taurus on June 20th. Chiron placed here brings the focus on our self worth and our resources. There may be feelings of scarcity, feeling undeserving and financial insecurity. Taurus is very connected to the earth and the physical body. Healing through natural practices may become a focus, as well as healing the Earth. This is a time to focus on our physical wellbeing, building our resources and concentrating on building our feelings of self-worth.
The Nodes Move into Leo/Aquarius
The Nodal axis will shift at the end of July. This will be reflected by half of the eclipses shifting to be in Leo and Aquarius, while the other half play out for the final time in Virgo/Pisces.
With the North Node moving from Pisces to Aquarius, the focus turns to the collective consciousness and a sense of global community. We embrace diversity and celebrate our differences. We move away from the need for recognition and attention. The balance here is to be creative in our search for collective harmony. Recognise that everyone has their own unique talents and gifts that are needed in the world. If we share our gifts, we live with a spirit of togetherness that shines a light on the whole world.
Use this time of cosmic shifting to shine a light in your corner of the world. If we all do this, then the world will become a brighter place for all.
Eclipses
We have two Solar Eclipses and two Lunar Eclipses in 2025. A Solar Eclipse occurs on a New Moon and a Lunar Eclipse occurs on a Full Moon. For a New or Full Moon to be an eclipse, the nodes need to be within 19 degrees of the Sun and Moon.
The first Lunar Eclipse occurs on March 3rd @ 12 degrees 53 minutes of Virgo. We are asked during this time to take a step back and release any perfectionistic ways that are holding us back. Questions to ask ourselves under this Full Moon Eclipse - What feelings being eclipsed at this time? Where are you feeling emotionally blocked?
The first Solar Eclipse occurs on February 17th @ 28 degrees 43minutes of Aquarius. (This also coincides with the Chinese New Year). Make new connections under this New Moon eclipse. Take action to manifest groups and friendships. Questions to ask under this Solar Eclipse - Where am I holding back my light? How can I bring my light out of the dark?
The second Lunar Eclipse for 2026 occurs on August 28th @ 4 degrees 54 minutes of Pisces. This Full Moon Eclipse is asking us to release old patterns and any destructive or addictive behaviour. Release the need to be all things to all people. Again, take the time to discover if you have any emotional blockages and how to release them.
The final Solar Eclipse for 2026 occurs on August 13th @ 20 degrees 01 minutes of Leo. This New Moon Eclipse is asking you to start new creative projects that help with self-expression. Do things that make you feel special. Explore ways to shine your light so others can see you for the beautiful person you are.
To see how these eclipses may influence you in 2026, plot them on your own birth chart to see which areas of life may be affected. If an eclipse falls in the same sign and degree as one of your natal planets, it will have a very strong impact. Use the energy wisely.
